Telehealth Visits for Pediatric Neurology and Rheumatology

You will receive a link via email or text message from “SecureVideo” that confirms your telehealth visit.

Download the “Zoom” app on your smartphone, tablet or computer before your visit. 

When you set up your appointment, you will receive a link via email or text message from Phreesia to complete patient registration information online. These documents and payment must be completed before you can enter your telehealth visit. If you don’t receive a link within 24 hours or have any questions, please contact us at 512-494-4000.

Follow the instructions provided for your virtual visit on the scheduled date and time.

Our telehealth service is an option for all patients meeting with a child neurologist or pediatric rheumatologist, including existing patients and new patients. We realize that sometimes in-person visits are the best option for your child, and we offer those at our South Austin and Cedar Park clinics.

Telehealth appointments need to be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Our virtual appointments are appropriate for a variety of care needs, such as follow-up visits, chronic disease management, medication management and reviewing test or lab results. If you’re unsure if a virtual visit is a good option for your child, call us at 512-494-4000.

Most major commercial and Medicaid health plans cover telehealth visits the same way they cover in-person visits. We check for eligibility and benefits for each patient before each visit. The collection of payment will be set up in your paperwork for your telehealth visit. Payment for your visit will need to be completed prior to you moving into “the virtual waiting room.”

We use a HIPAA-compliant platform called SecureVideo that offers an enhanced layer of security to protect patient health information. While this platform integrates with Zoom, patients are scheduled “inside” the SecureVideo platform, helping us ensure your privacy.
