Elsa Suh, M.D.

About

Dr. Suh attended Smith College in Massachusetts, where she graduated magna cum laude in biochemistry. She received her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine and completed her internship and pediatric residency training at New York University Medical Center.

She obtained a research grant from the American Heart Association as a cardiology fellow in basic science and carried out her research work at the Rockefeller University/Cornell Medical Center in New York. She continued her clinical pediatric cardiology fellowship training at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). After receiving additional training in interventional cardiology at CHOP, she remained on medical staff at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia as an interventional cardiology attending and as their Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

Dr. Suh moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1996. Her work focuses on invasive cardiology, including sophisticated cardiac catheterizations and therapeutic interventions, which may eliminate the need for openheart surgery in children and adults with congenital heart defects. She has also performed fetal cardiac interventions, which were only being offered at less than five centers in the world.

Outside of her professional life, she is an accomplished classical pianist, who also enjoys outdoor sports such as skiing and playing competitive tennis.
