Dr. Penso specializes in maternal-fetal medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine, where she also completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology and fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine. Upon completion of her fellowship, Dr. Penso joined the faculty in maternal-fetal medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital while also embarking on a fellowship in obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship in ultrasound and prenatal diagnosis at the Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut.

Dr. Penso was an instructor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive medicine at Harvard Medical School and Yale University School of Medicine and assistant clinical professor at Tufts University School of Medicine. At the same time, she was on faculty at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Yale New Haven Hospital and St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. She is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine. She is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine and International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her clinical interests include prenatal diagnosis and ultrasound. She speaks several languages, including Greek, Italian, Spanish and French, and enjoys traveling, fashion, participating in competitive dog shows, needlepoint and spending valuable time with her family and Afghan Hounds.
