About

Dr. Hsieh is a board-certified, fellowship-trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon with specialized training in craniofacial and pediatric plastic surgery. His scope of practice includes pediatric and adult patients with craniofacial differences, including cleft lip and palate, craniosynostosis, complex facial deformities, facial fractures, facial nerve paralysis and microtia, as well as hand anomalies, vascular malformations and congenital breast conditions. He also has a passion for gender affirmation and aesthetic surgeries.

As a pediatric plastic surgeon, Dr. Hsieh routinely performs complex craniofacial reconstruction of the face, including the lip, palate, nasal reconstruction and cranial vault resulting from birth defects, cancer treatments or traumatic injuries. He also specializes in minimally invasive surgical methods and customized 3D planning to offer his patients the safest and best outcomes.

An expert in cleft lip and palate treatment, Dr. Hsieh has more than 10 years of experience working with multidisciplinary cleft and craniofacial teams.

As a craniofacial surgeon, he treats craniosynostosis using the most advanced techniques, including traditional open cranial vault surgery, minimally invasive endoscopic surgery and distraction osteogenesis. He also offers the latest ear reconstruction techniques for patients with microtia, using autologous tissue or alloplastic reconstruction. In addition, he specializes in customized ear molding to correct infant ear deformities in patients as early as one day old.

Beyond his pediatric practice, for patients 18 years and older, Dr. Hsieh has considerable experience in gender affirmation surgery including mastectomy, breast augmentation, and facial gender confirmation surgery – the latter of which was developed through specialized training with the FACIALTEAM in Marbella, Spain. He has experience working within Comprehensive Gender Care programs in order to provide adult patients with the optimal medical, psychological, social, and surgical care. Dr. Hsieh offers consultations and performs gender affirmation surgery for patients 18 years and older.

Dr. Hsieh also has a passion for aesthetic surgery and has trained extensively with international leaders to develop expertise in breast augmentation, mastopexy, abdominoplasty, lip lift, rhinoplasty and otoplasty.

Dr. Hsieh earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed an integrated plastic surgery residency at Brown University. He completed his craniofacial and pediatric plastic surgery fellowship at the University of California - San Diego/Rady Children’s Hospital, California’s largest children’s hospital. He pursued further subspecialty training in facial gender confirmation surgery with Facialteam.

He has a passion for humanitarian work, including volunteering with ConnectMed International, treating patients with craniofacial anomalies in Vietnam and Mexico, and Fresh Start Surgical Gifts, providing reconstructive surgery to infants, children and teens with physical deformities.
