Dr. Pettersen is a board certified pediatric cardiologist and pediatrician who joined the Rocky Mountain Pediatric Cardiology team in 2012. He received his medical degree from the Mayo Medical School. He completed his pediatric residency at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH, and his pediatric cardiology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Pettersen was a staff cardiologist at the Children's Hospital of Michigan from 2000-2011, where he served as the director of echocardiography and telemedicine services, and was also a member of the Wayne State University School of Medicine faculty. Dr. Pettersen has authored numerous scientific manuscripts, book chapters and review articles on the evaluation and management of children with congenital heart disease. He is recognized nationally as an expert in pediatric echocardiography and lectures locally and nationally. Dr. Pettersen enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, outdoor activities (skiing, hiking and biking), reading, music and fine arts.
