Dr. Lisa McGill-Vargas attended medical school at Loma Linda University, she moved to San Antonio, TX for her Pediatric Residency followed by a fellowship in Perinatal-Neonatal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Following her fellowship, she was hired as an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where she provided clinical care in the NICU and conducted research studying neonatal glucose metabolism. She moved to Spokane, WA in 2016 and joined Pediatrix Neonatology of Eastern Washington working at both the level IV NICU at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital and the level III NICU at MultiCare Deaconess.

Dr. McGill-Vargas is passionate about maternal and neonatal care and works hard to provide excellent evidence-based medicine while also involving the parents in the care of their newborn. She is involved in a respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) study as well as several quality improvement projects. Dr. McGill-Vargas has been the medical director for the Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital NICU since 2021.
