Julie obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the University of Texas in Austin and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University. She worked as a registered nurse for 5 years in the neonatal intensive care unit and in pediatric research before obtaining her master’s degree from Texas State University as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She worked as a specialty nurse practitioner in gastroenterology, prior to joining the team at Pediatric and Congenital Cardiology Associates in 2016.

Julie enjoys caring for children and adults with congenital heart disease. One of her clinical interests is the prevention of chronic disease through lifestyle modifications. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Austin Area Advanced Practice Nurses Association, Texas Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, and Heart Rhythm Society.

Julie loves exploring all that her hometown of Austin has to offer, gardening, practicing yoga, and caring for her numerous backyard chickens.
