PEDIATRIX MEDICAL GROUP: HUMAN RIGHTS STATEMENT

The Pediatrix®, Inc., mission, vision and values statements define who we are and how we operate. Our values ensure that we build trust, empower all, embrace change, demonstrate respect, be accountable and celebrate success. These values, along with our mission and vision, are the foundation for the company’s human rights commitments, as expressed in this human rights policy.

Pediatrix is committed to operating with respect for internationally recognized human rights, including the rights of minority groups and women and with respect for those rights affirmed in the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Guided by the human rights due diligence framework set forth in the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, we are committed to assessing the impacts of our business activities on human rights and to addressing adverse impacts. Our efforts include attention to the human rights impacts of our service delivery and our strategy and to our engagements with employees, patients, communities, governments, business partners and suppliers, and we actively disclose to and, to the extent possible, make efforts to involve these stakeholders in the development, implementation, review and assessment of the effectiveness of our policies on this topic.

At Pediatrix, we provide care to patients and families and, as a result, we gather and hold private, personal health information to support our mission to “Take great care of the patient, every day and in every way.” Through our commitment to operating with respect for individual and human rights, we consider both the human rights impacts of our current activities, and we strive to understand and address the potential impacts of tomorrow’s health care technologies and business practices.

Trust, as one of our core values, is critical to our relationships and that we empower all, embrace change, demonstrate respect and hold ourselves accountable to do the right thing. We are committed to regular engagement regarding the impacts of our current and future activities. We also maintain communication channels so stakeholders may raise concerns if they believe that we are not operating in a manner consistent with our human rights commitments.

At Pediatrix, we conduct regular training and awareness-raising activities and will continue to expand these to provide our employees with guidance on our human rights commitments and with the tools they need to operate in a manner consistent with those commitments.

Our human rights policy is fundamental to our commitment to operate with empowerment, respect and accountability in everything we do. This statement is consistent with our mission, vision and values and is supported by our code of conduct and our supplier code of conduct.
