Dr. Hede specializes in cardiac imaging, including intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography and fetal echocardiography. She also focuses heavily on inpatient postoperative care for congenital heart patients.

She joined Pediatrix® Cardiology of San Antonio in 2021 and is a member of the American Society of Echocardiography and the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Hede earned her dual undergraduate degree in neurobiology and history at Yale University, graduating with honors. In college, she conducted research in neurodevelopment, founded the first Indian classical music organization at the university and was heavily involved in developing various educational programs, both locally and abroad, for at-risk children and children with autism.

She earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and completed her general pediatrics training at the Boston Combined Residency Program at Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center. She then completed her pediatric cardiology fellowship at the University of California - Los Angeles. She helped develop various evidence-based protocols, including those for coarctation of the aorta and heart transplant patients, which were presented at several national and international meetings and ultimately published. Dr. Hede completed an advanced fellowship in non-invasive cardiac imaging at Children’s Health/University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, specializing in fetal echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography.

Dr. Hede was born in Mumbai, India, and moved to the United States when she was 4. She is fluent in Konkani, Hindi and Spanish. In addition, she is trained in both North Indian and Western classical vocal music and has participated in various musical groups, including the Houston Grand Opera. She is married to a radiation oncologist. Together they have two children and enjoy the many family activities that San Antonio offers.
