Why does my child need a hearing test?

If your child is being seen for ear infections or other disorders known to be associated with hearing loss, we need to determine your child’s level of hearing. Many times, there are medical reasons for a decrease in hearing, which can be corrected with medical intervention. In other cases, hearing loss may be permanent. Either way, it is best to know how well your child hears so effective and early intervention can be established.

Who will perform the hearing test?

At Pediatrix ENT of Orlando, your child will be tested by audiologists who specialize in working with children. They are all doctorate-level trained professionals who will provide testing based on your child’s age range and abilities. Testing can be completed on children of all ages and developmental abilities.
