Dr. Thomas Rauth grew up in Southern California and received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego. He moved to the south to attend Vanderbilt University School of Medicine where he obtained his medical degree and master's in public health. After medical school, he completed his general surgery and pediatric surgery training at Vanderbilt where he remained on faculty as assistant professor and co-director of the ECMO service until leaving in 2013 to start Nashville Pediatric Surgery. Dr. Thomas Rauth's professional interests include minimally invasive surgery and the surgical care of the newborn. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Pediatric Surgical Association and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. Dr. Thomas Rauth is married to Dr. Lindsay Mallard Rauth, a Nashville native, who is a pediatrician in Green Hills. They have two children and enjoy exercising, traveling and spending time together as a family.
