OB Hospitalists of the Mid-Atlantic, part of Pediatrix Medical Group, has partnered with White Oak Medical Center to offer specialized OBGYN hospital services to expectant mothers in the greater Washington, D.C. metro area and Silver Spring, Maryland. The services ensure every patient has access to high-quality OB care 24/7.

Our team of highly experienced and board-certified OB hospitalists contract with obstetrician groups and hospitals to provide immediate hospital coverage in the event your obstetrician is unavailable. Should you have an emergency during your pregnancy that requires hospitalization or need prompt attention upon arrival, our clinicians are available to help.

Our physicians remain current in the latest advancements in obstetrics through progressive continuing education and simulation training. To ensure you receive exceptional care, they continually collaborate with other members of your care team.

As an affiliate of Pediatrix Medical Group, a national provider of maternal-fetal and obstetric services, our doctors consistently share knowledge with a diverse network of maternal-fetal medicine and OB specialists, applying additional skills that allow us to act quickly and confidently in critical situations.

Our dedicated OB hospitalists are specially trained to handle various pre- and post-pregnancy situations, ranging from natural births to emergency C-sections. We are pleased to offer you a wide range of OBGYN services, including:

  • On-site 24-hour coverage with accomplished, board-certified OBGYNs.
  • Unassigned patient coverage.
  • Evaluate, manage and deliver newborns of unassigned patients.
  • Coordinate post-discharge care.
  • Provide care for intrapartum transfers, such as unsuccessful home deliveries and postpartum care on admission.
  • Extender services to support private-practice physicians in the community.
  • Attending physician support and coverage.
  • Assistance with C-sections.
  • Emergency intervention.
  • Fetal-monitor interpretation.
  • Communication coordination in urgent situations.
  • Triage coverage.
  • Emergency department-related OBGYN consultations and care coordination.
  • Collaboration with neonatal, maternal-fetal medicine, pediatric cardiology, NICU and emergency room clinical teams to ensure the best patient outcomes.
