Dr. Espino-Torres received her medical degree at the University of Panama School of Medicine in Panama City, Panama. She completed her pediatric residency at the Mercer University School of Medicine, Savannah Campus. She completed her neonatology fellowship training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.

Dr. Espino-Torres is board-certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. She provides comprehensive care for critically ill premature and full-term infants from birth until discharge from the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Her area of clinical interest is breastfeeding medicine, nutrition, and necrotizing enterocolitis.

She was also appointed as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Clinical Educator Track) at Mercer University School of Medicine – Savannah Campus at Memorial University Medical Center.

She is an active fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and Sections on Breastfeeding Medicine and Neonatal –Perinatal Medicine.
