A BFP often triggers mixed emotions. “First of all, take a deep breath and be kind to yourself,” said Tania Lopez, CNM, a certified nurse-midwife at Pediatrix® OB Hospitalists of Texas. “It's normal to feel either excited, ambivalent or both once you actually see that line on the stick!” Lopez noted that a positive pregnancy test is possible as early as 10 days after conception, just a few days post-implantation. If you notice a faint line, it's a good idea to take another test. “Hopefully you bought a two-pack of tests so you can repeat the test in a few days and see if the line is darker,” said Lopez. “If it’s still faint, you might call your provider to have an examination. If you're having pain or bleeding, it is especially important to call for an evaluation.”
