On Aug. 6, Paul Thornton, M.D., will discuss “Hypoglycemia in the Neonate: Management and Treatment.” Currently, there is a deficit of knowledge amongst the neonatal community regarding the physiology of transitional hypoglycemia and the etiology of the various forms of pathological hypoglycemia. This talk aims to address those gaps and guide the physician in the management of neonatal hypoglycemia.
In this session, we will:
- Understand the pathophysiology of transitional neonatal hypoglycemia.
- Differentiate physiological from pathological hypoglycemia.
- Understand the risk factors for perinatal stress hyperinsulinism.
