Amanda McWhirter, M.D.

About

Dr. Amanda McWhirter is a board-certified maternal-fetal medicine specialist dedicated to caring for women and families experiencing high-risk pregnancies. She has a special interest in prenatal genetics, advanced diagnostic ultrasound and the evaluation and management of fetal congenital cardiac malformations. Her goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care while helping patients navigate complex medical decisions with confidence and support.

Dr. McWhirter believes that every pregnancy journey is unique. She takes a collaborative, patient-centered approach, partnering closely with patients, their families, referring providers and multidisciplinary care teams to create individualized care plans tailored to each patient's specific needs and goals.

Originally from Colorado, Dr. McWhirter developed a deep appreciation for the Mountain West and its active outdoor lifestyle. She earned her medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University and completed both her residency training and maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at the University of Arizona in Tucson, where she gained extensive experience caring for patients with complex obstetric and fetal conditions.

Outside of medicine, Dr. McWhirter enjoys cooking, snowboarding and hiking with her dog. She is passionate about supporting families throughout pregnancy and is committed to providing exceptional care during some of life's most important moments.
