Anatoliy Ilizarov, M.D.

Dr. Anatoliy Ilizarov is a board-certified neonatologist with nearly 38 years of dedicated experience in neonatal-perinatal medicine. He began his neonatology career in 1988 at the prestigious N.F. Filatov Children’s Hospital in Moscow, Russia, one of the finest pediatric institutions in the country. Since immigrating to the United States, he has built an extensive career spanning clinical excellence and leadership.
Dr. Ilizarov serves as corporate medical director of Pediatrix Neonatology of Texas in McAllen. A graduate of Russian State Medical University, he completed his pediatric residency at Winthrop- University Hospital in New York and his neonatology fellowship at SUNY Stony Brook. He earned an Executive MBA in health from the University of Colorado and completed additional leadership training.
He holds a faculty appointment as clinical assistant professor of pediatrics at UT Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine. Dr. Ilizarov has contributed to neonatal research with publications on lung protection and mechanical ventilation strategies. He is also the author of Chatting Through Business School. Dr. Ilizarov remains committed to high-quality, family-centered care for newborns and families in the Rio Grande Valley.
