Dr. Zaira Garcia-Corujo is triple board-certified in general pediatrics, pediatric critical care and pediatric hospital medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from The University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus. Dr. Garcia completed her residency and fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. After completing her fellowship, she moved back to Puerto Rico, where she worked for two years in the territory's largest pediatric hospital and most prominent teaching institution on the island.

While in Puerto Rico, she provided education to PICU fellows, pediatric residents, and medical students, and played a key role in enabling MRIs to be performed on intubated pediatric patients for the first time.

In July 2011, she relocated to Florida and worked for Kidz Medical Services for the next eight years. In her role, she covered three hospitals for the organization: Palm Beach Children's Hospital, Bethesda Memorial Hospital and NCH North Naples Hospital. During this time, she was elected as the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Bethesda Hospital, a distinction earned two years in a row.

From 2021 to 2024, Dr. Garcia worked at Joe Di Maggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood as a pediatric intensivist. Starting in 2024, she worked as both a pediatric intensivist and a pediatric hospitalist. In December 2024, Dr. Garcia assumed the role of medical director for the pediatric and pediatric intensive care units at HCA Florida Palms West Hospital. Her goal in this role is to provide the best possible inpatient pediatric care in partnership with community pediatricians.

Dr. Garcia's clinical interests include the management of septic shock, multiple organ dysfunction and respiratory failure.

Dr. Garcia was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She values outdoor activities with her husband and two sons, and her interests include boating, traveling and dancing.
