Dr. Suzanne Bovone provides comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, including annual exams, STD prevention and testing, contraception, pre-conception planning, fertility evaluations, pregnancy (low-risk and high-risk), menstrual assessment/mood issues, perimenopause and menopause.

She enjoys taking care of patients from teenagers to adults, providing a safe space to evaluate all gynecological needs. The physician-patient relationship is the foundation of what drives her to provide personalized care. The teen years bring significant developmental changes, choices and milestones. Building mutual respect and trust allows her to help navigate this time. Similarly, in pregnancy, she prepares mothers for a healthy and safe delivery and ensures that women are not struggling alone during the postpartum period. As women age, she educates about physical changes and recognizes how one's health is affected by emotional and social influences.

The community has noted her outstanding care as she has received numerous Compassionate Doctor Recognitions and Patients’ Choice Awards. Beyond this, the most gratifying appreciation has come from caring for networks of friends and family members. The babies she delivered are now young adult women coming to see her for care.

She actively participates in and helps shape the medical community by serving various positions within the hospital. Leadership roles within the department have included quality review, credentialing and department chair. She recently helped develop the Enhanced Recovery after C-section Policy, which has reduced narcotic use and allowed for earlier discharge home.

Dr. Bovone is a board-certified OB-GYN who has practiced in the Bay Area since 2002. She graduated from Santa Clara University with a B.S. in combined sciences and a B.A. in Spanish. She attended UCLA Medical School and remained in Southern California for her OB-GYN residency training at UCLA. Born and raised in San Jose, she returned home, creating a thriving practice of taking care of women throughout all stages of life.

“I am honored that my patients allow me to care for them. I strive to be thorough in knowing their medical history, but I also want to know who they are as a person? What are their joys and passions? What do they struggle with, and how can I help? One’s well-being is dependent on multiple factors such as nutrition, exercise, sleep, relationships, stressors, etc. Listening to the patient guides me to what is most important at the visit. We then create a plan to optimize health.” Dr. Bovone
