Jelui Awada Bernier, M.D.

About

Jelui Awada Bernier, M.D., is a dedicated pediatric intensivist with clinical interests in pediatric congenital heart disease, pediatric sedation and analgesia in the intensive care unit, palliative care, and simulation-based education for pediatric residents. She is actively involved in the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Section on Simulation and Innovative Learning Methods. Dr. Awada Bernier has been recognized with multiple honors, including Attending of the Year (2022) and GME Simulation Champion for the Pediatric Residency Program at Palms West Hospital.

Drawn to critical care medicine by both the challenge and the privilege of caring for critically ill children, she is committed to supporting patients and their families during their most vulnerable moments. The most rewarding aspect of her work is providing compassionate guidance, comfort and high-quality care as children and families navigate illness.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending meaningful time with family and friends, especially during the Christmas season, which is a time for sharing, celebration and togetherness.
