I remember being asked in 7th grade what I want to grow up doing and I said “I want to be a doctor.” It has been a privilege to be provided the opportunity to follow that dream. In Pediatrics Residency, I came to love ICU medicine and chose Neonatology where I felt everything we do truly makes a difference. I remember thinking “give me a 24 weeker and anything is possible.” Our very deliberate and committed care for every sick newborn but in particular for the most premature and vulnerable babies can have life long impact. I love caring not just for the baby but also the whole family who we get to know during their baby’s stay in the NICU.
