Summer Okimoto, CNM

Summer Okimoto, DNP, CNM, is a certified nurse-midwife who has cared for women and families since 2001. Before entering midwifery, she spent nine years as a labor and delivery nurse and served overseas as a medical missionary—experiences that shaped her lifelong commitment to women’s health. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington and, in 2010, completed Baylor University’s inaugural Nurse-Midwifery/Doctor of Nursing Practice (NM/DNP) program.
Summer has practiced full-scope midwifery in Texas, Colorado and Georgia, providing care to women from diverse backgrounds. She has served with Emory School of Medicine at Grady Hospital, University Nurse-Midwives at University of Colorado Hospital and Texas Health Nurse-Midwives in Fort Worth. She has mentored future midwives and taught in Baylor University’s NM/DNP program. Passionate about empowering women to make informed decisions, she provides evidence-based, compassionate and culturally sensitive care. In 2025, she joined Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialists of Georgia, part of Pediatrix Medical Group.
Summer and her family moved to East Cobb, Georgia, in 2022. She enjoys time with her husband, children and their mini-Bernedoodle, Maverick. She loves traveling, live music, barre fitness and the outdoors.
