About

Dr. Oakes received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Virginia and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, Irvine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Calfornia, Irvine, where she also served as Chief Administrative Resident. She completed her Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, where she also received her Master of Science in Clinical Investigation.

Dr. Oakes is passionate about providing the highest level of care for her patients and considers it an honor to participate in her patients’ pregnancies. She offers preconception consultations, pregnancy consultations and full obstetric care including delivery and postpartum care for high-risk patients. Her areas of interest are preeclampsia, preterm birth and placenta accreta spectrum.

Dr. Oakes is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has been named to both the Gold Humanism Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. During her residency, she received Resident Teacher of the Year for the UC Irvine School of Medicine and the Michael L. Berman, M.D. Award for Excellence in Gynecologic Surgery. As a fellow, she received the Diana and Jay Baumohl Fellowship Award for Outstanding Post-Graduate in Women’s Reproductive Health. Beginning as a fellow, Dr. Oakes has served as the Primary Investigator in grant-funded research and continues to remain active in clinical research. She currently serves on the MemorialCare Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital Multidisciplinary Excellence Committee and Women’s Health Best Practice Team.

In her free time, Dr. Oakes enjoys going to the beach, yoga and cooking dinner with her family.
