About
Dr. Joe Mendiola is a highly respected neonatologist with more than 30 years of experience caring for the most fragile and vulnerable newborns throughout South Texas. A proud San Antonio native, he earned his medical degree and completed his pediatric residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, followed by advanced fellowship training in neonatology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
Before entering private practice, Dr. Mendiola served eight years as a physician in the United States Army, including overseas deployments and distinguished service at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. His military background reinforced a lifelong commitment to excellence, discipline and compassionate patient care. Since 1991, Dr. Mendiola has been a trusted leader in neonatal medicine across South Texas, dedicating his career to giving every newborn the strongest possible start in life.
