About

Born and raised in Kansas, Julie Charlton, N.P., CNM, has adopted Georgia as her home and is a die-hard University of Georgia fan. Her love of obstetrics developed during nursing school. From the very first delivery she attended; she knew obstetrics was the field in which she was meant to practice. After working as a staff nurse and unit director in a regional perinatal center, she completed a Master of Nursing in Midwifery at Emory University.

Julie worked in private OBGYN practices in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Texas, attending more than 1,200 deliveries. In 2008, she joined Maternal-Fetal Specialists and completed a family nurse practitioner post-graduate program at North Georgia University. She currently holds certifications as a family nurse practitioner and nurse-midwife.

Julie and her husband, Michael, have three grown children and live in rural Cherokee county. She enjoys traveling, tennis, gardening and spending time with her four “fur kids” and volunteers with Australian Shepherds Forever rescue.
