You’re likely aware that having a baby affects your body but it might surprise you to find out just how many of these changes impact your skin. One common postpartum skin condition is acne. To keep it under control, try washing your face twice a day with a mild cleanser, suggests Jill Hechtman, M.D., a board-certified OBGYN at OB Hospitalists of Florida, part of Pediatrix® Medical Group. Spider veins can occur because of the pressure your expanding uterus puts on the rest of your body, said Dr. Hechtman. “The blood can pool in [your] legs and cause the capillaries under the skin to weaken and expand. They are not harmful, but many [people] don't like the appearance.”
