Alma Gutierrez is a board-certified neonatal nurse practitioner with more than 40 years of dedicated experience in neonatal-perinatal medicine. After earning her graduate degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, she spent much of her career at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Eight years ago, she returned to the Rio Grande Valley.

Alma is passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration and actively supports parents as partners in their baby’s care. She brings extensive clinical expertise developed through years of caring for critically ill newborns in high-acuity settings. She is part of the Mission Regional Medical Center (MRMC) neonatal intensive care unit team.

She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling to mountainous destinations. Alma has dedicated her career to caring for the most vulnerable newborns with compassion and skill. Alma Gutierrez remains committed to high-quality, family-centered care for newborns and families in the Rio Grande Valley.
