Parents urged to read accredited information about the COVID-19 vaccine

Misinformation has many parents weary about getting their children vaccinated for COVID-19. Zachary Hoy, M.D., a pediatric infectious disease specialist at Pediatrix Nashville Pediatric Infectious Disease, urges parents to find reliable sources of information about the vaccine or talk to their child’s pediatrician rather than relying on information from social media or word-of-mouth. “We find a lot of people may hear something from a neighbor that got sick or something, but they may have had an underlying illness or been on some medication that the parents don’t get the whole information,” said Dr. Hoy.
