Flurona facts for parents

Because people can get infected with multiple respiratory illnesses at the same time, experts expect to see cases of Flurona, a combination of the flu and COVID-19, this year. “It is actually not uncommon for children to contract more than one virus at a time,” said Kristina Deeter, M.D., pediatric intensivist and specialty medical officer for pediatric critical care medicine at Pediatrix® Medical Group. “Just because your body is fighting one infection doesn’t mean it cannot contract or get infected with others.”
