Endometriosis of the Fallopian Tubes

Approximately 10% of reproductive-age females, around 190 million individuals globally, have endometriosis, where cells resembling the uterine lining grow outside the uterus, often affecting the pelvic organs, including the fallopian tubes. “But it’s difficult to determine how many of these people have endometriosis of the fallopian tubes,” said Suzy Lipinski, M.D., an OBGYN at Obstetrix® of Colorado, part of Pediatrix® Medical Group. “Endometriosis of the fallopian tubes can only be diagnosed if the fallopian tubes are removed and then examined under a microscope.”
