Nora Babcock was born on March 10 at 24 weeks gestation weighing less than a pound. Following 129 days in the neonatal intensive care unit, she has defied all odds. "A case like Nora is still quite rare mostly because of her size," said Megan Schmidt, M.D., neonatologist at Pediatrix® Neonatology of Texas and Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital. "You're really battling against nature, and trying to get this body that is not ready to be in this world and trying to force it to stay in this outside world and to function," said Dr. Schmidt. "I can't thank Dr. Schmidt enough for just believing in her and not never giving up hope," said mom Annie Babcock.
