When Hurricane Ian decided to rain down on Florida’s east coast, baby Harper Rose Lindsey decided she wanted to make her way into the world. Harper’s mom, Laura, started having contractions the day Hurricane Ian approached. Local hospitals were not an option, so Laura, her husband Jason and her mom got in the care and headed to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale. After a long labor, a healthy Harper arrived the next day. “During this time that we’ve just gone through, it’s good to see something great happen,” said Geddis Abel-Bey, M.D., OB hospitalist at Women’s Specialty Care of Florida, part of Pediatrix® Medical Group, who delivered Harper.
