First-Trimester Pregnancy Symptoms

Whether you are actively trying to conceive or have a suspicion of being pregnant, it is beneficial to be aware of the early symptoms of pregnancy. During the first trimester, numerous changes occur rapidly, indicating that early pregnancy symptoms can become noticeable even before a missed period. The onset of pregnancy symptoms can vary among individuals. While some people may experience pregnancy symptoms shortly after conception, others may not feel pregnant until several weeks after receiving a positive pregnancy test. “Some people can feel pregnancy symptoms start as early as one week after a missed period,” said Amy Wetter, M.D., an OBGYN at Northside Women’s Specialists, part of Pediatrix® Medical Group.
