Since the coronavirus pandemic began in 2020, the virus has mutated and symptoms have evolved. Currently, common symptoms include cough, mucus production, sore throat, runny nose and lethargy. According to Zachary Hoy, M.D., a pediatric infectious disease specialist at Pediatrix® Centennial Hospitalist of Nashville, you may experience brain fog as well, though it can be hard to measure. To help protect against the virus, Dr. Hoy noted that regular handwashing and good hygiene practices overall are effective.
