Austin Family Receives Lifesaving Heart Care

Anderson Allen was born with a congenital heart defect just like mom, Micaela. Karen Wright, M.D., a pediatric cardiologist at Pediatrix® Pediatric and Congenital Cardiology Associates of Texas, cared for Micaela as a child through adolescence and in a full circle moment, she happened to be the on-call cardiologist when Micaela gave birth to her daughter in March. Anderson required surgery to improve blood flow and she is now thriving. She continues to be regularly monitored by Dr. Wright as her disease will progress over time. For the time being, Micaela is enjoying rekindling her longstanding relationship with Dr. Wright as she cares for the next generation of her family.
