Heather Drevna

Pediatrix's commitment to clinical and research excellence is evidenced by our comprehensive educational and professional development opportunities offered online or during live sessions. The Pediatrix® OB Grand Rounds series addresses pertinent issues that influence the clinical practice of obstetric medicine.

On June 16 at 1 p.m. ET, Olaide Ashimi Balogu, M.D., explores "cfDNA for Recessive Disorders."

Dr. Ashimi Balogu completed her medical training at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas, and finished her obstetrics and gynecology residency and maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). Dr. Ashimi Balogu joined Obstetrix® Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialists of Houston, part of Pediatrix® Medical Group, in 2020 after spending several successful years in academic practice in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at UTHealth.

Her choice to practice maternal-fetal medicine is based on her passion for taking care of mothers and babies in their time of need. Using her education, up-to-date knowledge and skills to provide the highest-quality maternal-fetal care, she makes a difference in women's and children's health care.

Dr. Ashimi Balogu is proud to serve the needs of high-risk patients and their OBGYNs. She is a proud resident of Southwest Houston and is primarily located at the practice’s Sugar Land location.
