Extremely Premature Baby Beats the Odds

Amandi Omokore-Allen was born at Ascension Seton Medical Center in January at just 23 weeks, a week after his twin brother passed away in the womb. Amandi weighed only 1 pound, 5 ounces and had a long NICU journey ahead of him. He was just a little over and pound, and he required, like most babies of his age and size at 23 weeks, breathing support and he did need a ventilator after that first 24-hour period of doing all the work on his own. He was tired and needed a ventilator to help support his breathing. Amandi was a fighter. I remember him throughout his care, he always had his eyes open bright.”
