Dr. Montero received his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, both affiliates of Harvard Medical School. His interest in caring for complicated pregnancies led him to pursue fellowship training in maternal-fetal medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. 

Dr. Montero has dedicated his career to academic medicine in Florida and Georgia. He has served as section chief for the division of maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Miami and the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. He enjoys all aspects of maternal-fetal medicine, including ultrasound screening, monitoring high-risk pregnancies and assisting in the care of pregnant women diagnosed with complex medical complications of pregnancy or congenital fetal abnormalities. Dr. Montero is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine. He has received recognition for teaching and mentoring medical students and residents. His excellent rapport with patients and families, coupled with care and compassion, has earned him consistently high patient satisfaction scores. As a south Florida native, fluent in Spanish, Dr. Montero is dedicated to optimizing the outcomes of high-risk pregnancies.
