Sissi Cossio, MD

About

Sissi Emperatriz Cossio, M.D., is a specialist in pediatric endocrinology and has 30 years of experience in the medical field. She received her medical degree from the Federico Villarreal National University School of Medicine in Lima, Peru, where she also completed a residency in pediatrics. Dr. Cossio worked as a pediatrician for almost 10 years in Peru gaining a great deal of experience in public health and the unique children’s wellness challenges in a developing country. She was subsequently appointed as a departmental director at the Instituto de Salud del Niño, Peru’s largest children’s hospital. After arriving in the United States, she completed a second residency training in pediatrics and a pediatric endocrinology fellowship at the University of Miami’s, Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Cossio is board certified in both pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Pediatric Endocrine Society, the Endocrine Society and the American Diabetes Association. She has also been a contributor in many research publications throughout her career.
