1979 Pediatrix Medical Group was founded as a single neonatology group
1991 Pediatrix opens its first pediatric cardiology practice and pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), both in South Florida
1994 Pediatrix launches its newborn hearing screen program
1995 Pediatrix completes its initial public offering
1996 Electronic medical record system and clinical data warehouse was introduced to bolster research, education and quality improvement initiatives
1997 Pediatrix began providing maternal-fetal medicine physician services through Obstetrix Medical Group
1998 Formalized Center for Research and Education was launched
2000 Pediatrix University, a free online CME/CNE resource for the maternal-fetal-newborn community, was launched
2001 Continuous quality improvement program was launched
2004 Pediatrix celebrates 25 years of patient care
2007 Pediatrix completed its first anesthesia practice acquisition, establishing a new unit, American Anesthesiology
2009 100,000 Babies Campaign launched to improve the delivery of neonatal care to 100,000 babies over a three year period.
2011 BabySteps certified as an electronic health record module by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT).
